The Intermediary Consulting Solutions Group (ICSG) partners to drive sales within the following sales teams: National Accounts, Wealth Management and Retirement. The Regional Retirement Specialist is passionate about building relationships and driving sales with retirement plan advisors, consultants and record keeping partners. The primary responsibility of the Regional Retirement Specialist Hybrid is to partner with Sales Consultants (external wholesalers) in a geographical territory to generate sales. This individual will also be responsible for proactively developing and owning relationships with retirement plan advisors. This is accomplished by providing retirement plan & financial insight, product information and improved sales tools using a consultative sales process. This hybrid role provides wholesaling support, primarily by phone, WebEx as well as conducting in-person meetings. Territory travel is expected. This may involve specific territory management of targeted prospects and clients, remote areas and/or responsibilities in support of the department's sales efforts. This position is open to Kansas City, or may be open to remote work depending on location. Responsibilities: Collaborate with our Regional Retirement Consultants to retain existing assets, see opportunities, drive sales in key strategies with our clients and prospects. You will also be expected to partner with sales leadership, internal business partners and be a central point of contact for existing territories. Build meaningful relationships with retirement advisors, consultants and record keeping partners. This involves extensive proactive outbound telephone/WebEx calls, using a consultative sales approach, and documentation of activities in our client management database. Build and maintain a strong understanding of our investment strategies and the competition. Remain current on the retirement plan industry and topics that impact our clients including regulatory changes, industry events and the financial markets. Use research tools and resources to strategically demonstrate our product offerings, differentiate from the competition and build a consultative relationship with our clients and prospects. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience; Two to three years financial industry experience preferred. Sales experience preferred. Shown knowledge of the financial intermediary marketplace. Knowledge of American Century procedural and operational policies preferred. Series 7 and 63 Securities licenses are required for the role. Completion of these licenses is required within 3 months of employment date if not already held. Willingness to travel up to 30%. Demonstrated interpersonal, investment analysis, written and verbal communication skills required. Solid understanding of Web Ex technology, LinkedIn and other social media, Microsoft Office, Morningstar, Morningstar Direct, Outlook and Salesforce CRM software preferred.
