Your Role:
The Process Development Biochemist is integral to maintaining supply reliability by expeditiously investigating, discovering root cause and closing deviations and material replacements for all IPS produced materials. The Biochemist works as a team member with Quality, Manufacturing, R&D and planning groups. This position is responsible for reviewing current processes to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement. Assisting with production of immunoassay components in support of Immunoassay Platform Solutions manufacturing may also be required, as needed.

Key accountabilities related to this role are:

  • Investigates production deviations and institutes corrective and preventative actions as appropriate
  • Properly escalates supply risks with respect to people, products, process
  • Maintains a strong partnership and excellent communications with other departments and planning
  • Maintains strong relationship with R&D and acts as a technical resource in quickly resolving production issues
  • Initiates, drives and supports Operational Excellence projects
  • Ensures the timely completion of work by assisting in the management of projects
  • Assists in ensuring equipment / instrumentation is in proper working order, and that appropriate training and documentation is up to date
  • Properly records material and product movement within the MRP system, as required
  • Assists in material production as needed

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry, Biology, or related scientific discipline
  • 3+ years in a production or R&D environment related to immunological based biomolecular assays

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understands immunoassay principals with working knowledge of manufacturing systems
  • Perform statistical analysis and interpretation of data
  • Can solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited information is available
