Job description

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the Human Resource activities for the belts division by maintaining positive associate relations, consulting with the global business on organization design and effectiveness, leading culture change, driving performance and talent management processes, team building, conducting workforce planning and associate development.

Essential Responsibilities

Clearly define up to 5 or 6 meaningful responsibilities that describe complete units of work, rather than individual steps, tasks or details that are required to complete an entire unit of work.

  • Facilitate change management by coaching leaders on critical processes such as interviewing, job evaluation, and management self-service activities
  • Support completion of HR strategic organizational initiatives
  • Drive talent development, succession planning and leadership competencies
  • Support organizational compliance standards
  • Contribute to plant-wide communication across different stakeholders
  • Drive performance management and talent management processes
  • Ensure effective associate relations are maintained through consistent application of policies including those that are part of the bargaining unit agreement
  • Develop recruiting and retention strategies and processes to assist with execution of staffing needs
  • Provide HRIS, workforce reporting and data analysis as needed
  • Coach leadership team on compensation, job evaluation and internal movement
  • Manage selection, placement and recordkeeping of all personal to ensure compliance with Affirmative Action
  • Interact regularly with various stakeholders to build positive relationships and ensure high levels of trust
  • Oversee onboarding process, including recruiting, onboarding and new hire orientation
  • Assist with training and development projects
  • Technical/Functional Skills

  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well cross functionally and in a team environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft programs including (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing environment
  • Leadership coaching and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working with bargaining unit is a plus
