Enjet Aero machines and fabricates complex jet engine parts, components and assemblies for leading OEMs in the commercial, defense and general aviation sectors. Position Description:

Estimating Engineer will be responsible for gathering specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare labor and material estimates for products, projects, or services. Work closely with engineers and management to determine, track, oversee and advise on part cost estimates vs. actuals. Maintain an effective line of communication with customers and internal departments to assure customers are provided with excellent service and submission deadlines are met. Maintain excellent documentation and focus on continuous process improvement. The Estimating Engineer shall be a go getter.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Utilize machined component manufacturing experience to review drawing requirements and identify special requirements or possible processing concerns; gather team as required to discuss risk factors and develop process.
  • Determine if the items submitted fit within the company's manufacturing capabilities and product scope
  • Utilize EPICOR quoting module and/or other estimating tools to calculate material, manufacturing time/cost, and prepare final proposals for review/submission.
  • Work closely with customer as well as internal team including purchasing, quality, operations, and staff to meet business strategies.
  • Track RFQ status for open, quoted, win/loss to provide feedback and understand performance
  • Track actuals on major quotes won to ensure assumptions are holding true and modify with team input as required.
  • Perform reviews of the estimating process and provide suggestions for improvements that may be beneficial to the continued growth of the company
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment with minimal supervision
  • 5 years aerospace experience preferred; knowledge of General Electric, Pratt & Whitney or Rolls Royce drawings, specifications, special processes a plus
  • Preferred experience in CNC machining, Sheet Metal Fabrication, Heat Treat, Weld, and Assembly
  • Ability to utilize CAD software to open and interrogate 3D part models required. Knowledge of Siemens NX a plus
  • Some ERP experience as well as understanding sourcing of components and services
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • GD&T proficiency
  • Familiarity with AS9100 QMS AS9102 First Article and AS9145 APQP and PPAP standards
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing or complex processing a plus.
