Lab Assistant / Phlebotomist, Laboratory (1.0 FTE) Full-time Mid-shift

Hours of the position are Monday-Friday 10:00a - 6:30p
Performs inpatient and outpatient phlebotomy procedures, specimen processing, clerical duties, microbiology set-up, reference lab preparation and collection of drug and alcohol screens.
Processes specimens and completes the proper paperwork for laboratory testing for both in-house and reference lab testing.
Performs waived testing and QC for waived testing under the supervision of the Department Manager.
Monitors and documents equipment and environmental temperatures.
Orders, receives, and takes inventory of supplies.
Strong interpersonal skills required for communicating with patients, medical staff, and employees.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. On the job training will be provided. Current BLS certification required within 90 days of employment. Phlebotomy certification preferred. At least 2 years phlebotomy experience/specimen processing preferred.
