POSITION OVERVIEW
The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for fielding any front-line HR actions and communicating with the HR Manager regarding any HR items. Coordinator is also responsible for full-cycle recruiting including but not limited to discussing needs with hiring managers, posting requisitions, screening and interviewing candidates, offering and coordinating employment screening and paperwork, facilitating orientation and day one employment.
Position Summary:
- Develops and implements creative solutions to attract and recruit candidates
- Schedules candidates for interviews, posts opportunities to internal and external job boards
- Conducts background checks including drug screens for candidates accepting job offers
- Coordinates onboarding activities with the hiring manager
- Handles and documents HR actions by completing forms, reports, logs and/or records
- Fields any HR action and coordinates/delegates items to the HR team effectively
- Coordinates activity around Service Milestone Awards, Employee Recognition Awards, and other engagement activity
- Facilitates new-hire orientation and certain HR trainings for all employees
- Maintains direct contact and relationship with staffing agencies
- Assists the management team by ensuring appropriate staffing levels every day in adherence to the production schedule
- Maintains accurate data in the HRIS system and employee personnel files
- Assists eligible employees in benefit enrollment and follow-up
- Assists with employee terminations and the offboarding process
- Works as a team with the HR Administrative Assistant to accomplish their daily goals and expectations
- Participates in employee relations and fields initial requests to coordinate with HR Manager
- Assists supervisors in the creation and delivery of disciplinary actions as needed
- Facilitates the FMLA process as needed
- Participates in company level HR projects as needed
- All other position related duties as needed
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
This position operates in an office environment located within a manufacturing facility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and other equipment as needed.
The position requires the ability to perform work in different elements of the operation between a general office environment and the production operation environment. The position will, at times, operate in a cold and wet environment.
This is a full-time position. Core days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flexibility to schedule is required when workload demands change.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in HR or Business preferred
- SHRM certification preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in a professional office environment required
- Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Familiarity of HRIS systems and applications, KRONOS preferred
- Familiarity of Applicant Tracking Systems, KRONOS preferred
- Experience using social networks for recruiting (LinkedIn and Facebook in particular)
- Must have valid Driver's License and reliable transportation. (Local traveling is required for recruiting purposes.)
- Must display a professional appearance and attitude
- Can complete work items with minimal supervision
- Strong time management skills and customer service skills
