Description of Work
Contribute to the mission of the SARS -CoV-2 project by performing testing on specimens submitted to the Nebraska Veterinary Diagnostic Center, while working under limited supervision. Work with CLIA Technical supervisor, laboratory director, and other stakeholders to comply with all testing requirements. Assist in the management of day-to-day operations and coordination of the lab's operational activities. Assist in the supervision of staff. The Lab is a 24 hour, 7 day a week facility. Shifts vary by applicant availability and may be discussed during the interview process.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelors in a related science plus two years laboratory or related experience; equivalent education and experience considered. Experience with advanced lab procedures, data collection and analysis. Knowledge of quality control procedures. Prioritization, organizational, communication and facilitation skills. Record keeping and computer skills. Knowledge of quality control procedures, compliance and safety regulations. Ability to teach/train others.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in microbiology, biomedical sciences, medical technology or equivalent experience in human clinical laboratory/field. Project management and supervisory experience. Demonstrated ability to teach others. Knowledge of molecular biology and experience performing molecular diagnostic testing.
