Job description
Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative new hires are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by the first day of their employment or have an approved medical or religious exemption on file.
Job Summary
The Coordinated Enrollment Specialist will assist families seeking high quality early childhood services to determine eligibility and apply for public benefits, share information about available childcare options, and complete the necessary intake requirements for the program of their choice.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Initiate application and enrollment process with families seeking childcare.
- Gather demographic information from families and enter it into ChildPlus database.
- Determine eligibility for programs such as EHS services, Child Care Subsidy, and other public benefits.
- Assist families in applying for public benefits.
- Inform families of available childcare options.
- Complete intake requirements for program(s) of the family's choice.
- Maintain communication with families until they are enrolled in a program of their choice.
- Coordinate with partner agencies to monitor current enrollment needs.
- Assist in the implementation of a comprehensive child recruitment plan according to program guidelines with other program staff.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Education and Experience
- Associate's degree in social work, human services or related degree required. Bachelor's degree in social work, human services or related degree is preferred, and
- Minimum two years of experience providing social work services to families and children, or related field required, or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the job duties and responsibilities.
Certifications and Licenses
- Valid Driver's License, reliable vehicle and current proof of insurance.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
- Knowledge of state TANF and/or child care block grant regulations.
- Ability to establish supportive relationships and form an alliance with staff and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of community culture, resources and services to ensure families receive comprehensive services.
- Ability to travel to community agencies.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends.
- Ability to work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team of professionals.
- Organization skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities.
- Ability to collaboratively problem-solve.
- Maintain boundaries and performs all duties in an ethical and professional manner.
- Complies with all confidentiality regulations as required.
- Ability to lift, carry and move center/classroom equipment and supplies. and/or bulky objects or children weighing up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a casual, open office environment geared towards collaboration. Business attire may be required for some meetings. All necessary office equipment is provided.
