Business Development Representative

WORLDWIDE EXPRESS

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for prospecting in three geographically defined markets that are strategically aligned with three Major Account Executives (MAEs). The BDR goal is to identify opportunities and develop the leads up to, and including, setting an appointment for the MAE to meet the prospect in person.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interact by phone and email with key personnel up to, and including, C-Level executives
  • Self-generate high value leads by collecting business intelligence and identifying key decision makers
  • Qualify inbound marketing sourced leads by collecting business intelligence and identifying key decision makers
  • Work with experienced sales reps to identify and set meetings with high quality prospects
  • Solution selling; effectively present solutions through cost-benefit analysis
  • Present a streamlined technology solution developing a detailed analysis of customized needs in challenging areas and lanes

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Proven success in generating/qualifying leads through prospecting new business with a 'hunter' mentality

  • Effective communicator with strong business acumen and intuition

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to travel on a weekly basis within the district
  • Attention to detail to drive profitability
  • Ability to think strategically about the personal impact to the client's long-term business strategy
  • Team-oriented peer, with a thirst to compete to be the most valuable player
  • Business Degree, or equivalent experience

  • Fast track bonus opportunity for leads generated during first 3 month ramp up
  • Bonus/commission based on 5-week average margin after ramp!
  • Promotion opportunity to BDR 2 in 6-12 months, Account Executive in 18 - 24 months, sooner based on performance.
