Elbit Systems of America is currently recruiting for a Human Resources Intern to join our amazing HR team! This position will be located in Merrimack, NH and is a paid part-time, year-round position with flexibility for a hybrid (remote/onsite) work assignment that works around the Intern's class schedule. The HR Intern will work under the direct supervision and mentorship of professional staff within the human resources department, undertaking a variety of activities and projects of varying levels of professional complexity. The HR Intern will work as a member of the team, directly interacting with colleagues, internal customers and external resources in the planning and implementation of a variety of projects. This is a developmental position, restricted to current college students enrolled in a Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or other related degree program. The goal of the internship is to allow the student to apply the skills and knowledge obtained in their studies in a real-world environment, preparing them for their post-graduate career.
Job Description
- Participate in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the intern's field of study, interest and career goals.
- Develop, suggest, implement, and maintain procedures to support the efficient administration and continuous improvement of departmental operations.
- Using Excel, develop reports, provide data analysis, and assist HR Business Partners with the presentation of data using PowerPoint.
- Provide information to employees to assist with general questions on company policies and procedures, contact information for various benefit providers, Learning Management System, HR Information System (HRIS) and Talent Acquisition System.
- Assist with the maintenance of employee's electronic files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
- Collaborate with HRBPs in employee relations initiatives and investigations.
- Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in business interactions and honor personal commitments.
- Support the development and execution of HR projects that help drive a culture of diversity and inclusion.
- Assist with coordination of the company's Internship Program, including planning events and networking opportunities for Interns throughout the company.
- Perform various administrative duties relating to the day-to-day operations of the department, such as assisting with processing invoices, placing orders for new hire materials and completing employment verifications.
- May assist in the scheduling of exit interviews and new hire onboarding.
- Along with other interns in the Company, participate in a presentation for the Executive Staff designed to summarize the internship experience and project work.
Qualifications
- High School diploma and current enrollment in an accredited college program in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or other related degree program.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality related to Protected Personal Information (PPI), Health Information Privacy (HIPPA), employee relations issues and other protected information.
- Working knowledge of software applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to understand and follow complex, detailed instructions.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility to handle multiple priorities.
- Ability to work for short to moderate periods of time without direct supervision.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred but not required.
- Must be available to work on-site in our Merrimack, NH office once per week
