Job description
The CCS Companies is currently looking to hire a motivated and driven HR professional with proven leadership experience in a primarily non-exempt workforce environment, overseeing the day to day HR operations in our 3 area locations in Salem, NH, Portsmouth, NH, and our Corporate Headquarters in Norwood, MA.
Reporting to the CFO, the AVP, Human Resources will further the HR mission of enabling strategy, shaping behaviors, and driving results to solve complex organizational challenges through people-related solutions, as well as, act as a business partner and HR support to members of the Senior Management team, setting the people strategy of the organization and heading the operations of the Human Resources department.
This position will be centralized in our Salem, NH office and will also require the ability to work in our Portsmouth, NH and Norwood, MA office locations as business needs require.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manages the Human Resources team and is responsible for the oversight of, but not limited to, Employee/Labor Relations, Benefits and Compensation, Risk Management, Performance and Associate Development, Learning & Development, Regulatory Compliance and HR Budget.
- Aligns the organization's people strategy with the corporate strategy in order to achieve corporate goals and objectives by developing and implementing programs, systems and procedures that support the organization's goals and associates and working with the HR Managers at each facility to implement.
- Provides overall direction and guidance of the company's Talent Acquisition processes and overseeing the strategic development and execution of effective recruitment strategies in conjunction with the Talent Acquisition Manager to ensure the company's talent needs are continually met.
- Responsible for Employee/Labor Relations by monitoring corrective actions, turnover, and exit interview information and developing programs that contribute to the establishment of a positive employee relations and retention environment.
- Responsible for the overall direction of the Benefits function and periodically re-evaluates the employee benefit program to ensure alignment within the strategic objectives of the organization.
- Reports to the COO for all compensation-related functions by establishing and maintaining an effective wage and salary program for the company, recommending pay adjustments where appropriate and ensures compliance with all applicable Wage and Hour Laws (FLSA).
- Accountable for assuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations/laws in all Human Resources-related areas.
- Responsible for establishing safe, efficient, accurate, and compliant Human Resources recordkeeping systems.
- Participates on Safety and Security Teams and regularly monitors activity at all locations.
- Advises, monitors, and directs HR team to ensure that Human Resources policies practices and procedures are consistent across all location lines by developing and/or revising procedures and policies as needed to ensure consistent communication.
- Selects, trains, and assigns work to the HR team by establishing standards of performance, conducting performance evaluations and encouraging professional development.
- Oversees for the department's operational excellence and high ethical standards to ensure that the department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable procedures, policies, and professional standards.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for all clients, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure an ethical, professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
- Promotes effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and effectively works as part of the HR team and cross functionally with other departments to contribute to the achievement of department/company goals and objectives.
- Maintains work area and equipment in conditions as required by department standards and operates assigned equipment, performing all activities in a safe manner.
- Acts as coach and mentor to the HR team.
- Maintains department budget as directed by COO.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years' experience in Human Resources at the Manager level or above, including five years or more with directly related management experience and a thorough knowledge of all areas to be managed within the HR department.
- Demonstrates leadership, judgment, and sound decision-making skills.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate at all levels of the organizational chart effectively.
- Expanded knowledge of State and Federal Employment Laws.
- Strong Benefits Experience (HRIS Systems Knowledge), as it applies to State and Federal Laws.
- Knowledge of specialized principles or techniques equivalent to those that would normally be obtained from managing both exempt and non-exempt associates in either a financial, banking, or collections environment.
- Prior recruiting experience is required.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communications skills.
- Coachability: Being receptive to feedback, willing to learn, embracing continuous improvement and is receptive and responsive to change.
- Ability to maintain a predictable and consistent full-time work schedule.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree required - Human Resources Management, Business or related field or equivalent.
- Master's degree preferred
