The Internal Mortgage Loan Officer is a 100% remote position. The incumbent will be responsible for increasing the Credit Union mortgage-lending portfolio through applications started online, inbound and outbound calling. Inside Mortgage Loan Officers will be responsible for working with our Contact Center as well as educating potential and existing Affinity members and making appropriate mortgage recommendations, originating qualified loans to increase the mortgage portfolio, cross-selling other AFCU products and services, conducting initial mortgage application interviews, and obtaining necessary information and documentation as required by law. Affinity FCU is a federally chartered Credit Union, lending in all 50 states.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

• Exhibits sales and financial analysis competencies in the origination process, creating solutions and mortgage management plans for the member.
• Exhibits strong consultative sales skills, analytic ability, knowledge of the mortgage bond market, and ability to perform and explain mathematical comparisons of the mortgage options available to the member.
• Assists and interview members about first mortgage loans and to take mortgage loan applications.
• Take inbound calls from direct mail leads, make outbound calls, follow-up on pipeline
• Provide information on rates, terms and disclosures.
• Inform members of documentation needed to originate qualified loans and keeping borrowers informed of the loan status.
• Actively seeks opportunities to increase loan volume and cross sell credit union products, including but not limited to HELOC, deposit, auto financing, home insurance, business loan opportunities and investment opportunities.
• Works in conjunction with our mortgage CUSO, CUMAnet, to:
• Maintains knowledge of current mortgage guidelines.
• Assists members in identifying the correct mortgage product for their financial and housing needs, reviews credit and understands Agency guidelines (Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac).
• Keep abreast of market rates and programs on a regular basis, monitor economic indicators and make recommendations to management as necessary.

• Utilizes a consistent follow-up program (CRM) to track all phases of the loan process from start to closing
• Federal Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS), in accordance with the SAFE Act.
• Achieve sales goals and performance metrics

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS*
Requires 2 years plus of mortgage lending experience including a proven sales experience in retail banking. A BA/BS degree is a plus.
Knowledge of necessary lending compliance with familiarity with TRID, HMDA and other mortgage related regulations. Fannie Mae knowledge preferred. Will be required, prior to the assumption of employment duties, to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry; includes fingerprinting and background checks.
