The Human Resources Manager/Generalist for a small HR department to provide administration with various human resources functions including recruitment, onboarding, credentialing, talent management, benefits, employee relations (including investigations), and training and development. Provides guidance and direction to managers and employees on a broad variety of HR issues to provide an understanding of HR policies, systems, and management best practices. This job position administers multiple tasks and achieves strong outcomes in an environment with multiple shifting priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Participates in recruitment efforts including posting of job openings (internal and external), review and distribution of resumes to managers and follow-up on status of interviews.
- Verifies individual license and credential information to ensure current validity on a continuing basis for all employees.
- Ensures appropriate background checks, i.e. criminal background checks, pre-employment drug screens, etc.) are completed prior to new hire starting the job position.
- Conducts reference and employment verification of all new hires.
- Conducts and facilitates new hire orientation and processing of all new hire paperwork (including inputting new hires in payroll).
- Conducts benefit orientation for new hires or change of life status.
- Provides correspondence such as offer letters, transfer letters, and separation letters (for resignations).
- Resolves general daily inquiries between management and employees and solving work-related problems.
- Provides guidance with disciplinary actions and investigations.
- Performs tasks with problem including compensation, benefits, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigation, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition and morale.
- Maintains the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) system to meet the company's employee information needs including reporting.
- Works on special projects as directed.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is required with eight years to ten years' experience in Human Resources required. SHRM or HRCI certification is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of multiple Human Resource disciplines including recruitment, benefits administration, and employee relations would be required.
- Strong project management and prioritization skills to effectively manage and drive multiple projects and initiatives with competing deadlines.
- Ability to develop meaningful trusting relationships at all levels within the organization to gain support and achieve results.
- Must have knowledge of HIPAA and compliance of personnel records.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills is required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is required.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills is required.
- Must have the ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate when appropriate.
- Must have the ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency with the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS system.
