Lab Technician
Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelors Degree of Food Science, Chemistry or Quality Assurance preferred

Role and Responsibilities

Assist the batching process by proofing, distilling and recording information of all products produced.

Maintains Quality Control laboratory equipment performance by establishing quality standards; developing operations, quality, and troubleshooting procedures; ensuring staff compliance; certifying instrument performance and calibration; arranging equipment replacement, service, and repair.

Provides Quality Control laboratory results trending information, Inventory management of materials and equipment.

Maintains laboratory supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies and reporting usage quarterly

Execute and approve all laboratory investigations, sampling, and testing. (including customer non-conformance investigations)

Aid in the development of new products

ISO 9001 managing and compliance

Enter production, inventory, batch sheets, tank gauges into Accu-Term software

Report to Vice President of Production on all projects and updates

NJ DEP recording and compliance (Storm water permit, 5G2 certification, quarterly water samples)

Preferred Skills

Must have excellent computer skills including working knowledge of MS Excel, Outlook and Word

Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills

Knowledge of standard laboratory practices and GMP's

Must be able to perform well under pressure and demonstrate flexibility in modifying workload to support business needs
