Job description
The New Jersey Institute for Disabilities (NJID) offers specialized programs and supports throughout the State of New Jersey for infants, children and adults with developmental and related disabilities. With a dedicated staff of more than 500 employees, in 41 program sites throughout the state, NJID is one of the largest not-for-profit agencies of its kind in the nation. Each year, more than 1500 infants, children and adults with disabilities and their families are helped by NJID's unique continuum of services.
NJID has an immediate opening for an entry level Human Resources/Training Coordinator to join their Human Resources department located in Edison, NJ. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.
As an entry-level Human Resources/Training Coordinator, you will provide a wide range of support, including:
•
Manage all aspects of new employee on-boarding, ensuring new hire information is entered in the HRIS database
•
Conduct license verifications, background checks, and Central Registry Checks for new hires
•
Schedule pre-employment screenings
•
Conduct personnel file audits for documentation compliance.
•
Create system access for new hires.
•
Track new hire paperwork and follow-ups
•
Collect training documentation and track employee training
•
Maintain American Red Cross CPR and First Aid Instructor certification
•
Conduct CPR and First Aid training
•
Notify employees selected for random drug testing and ensure follow up
Education and Experience
Associate Degree required; Prior experience working in an HR department with specific experience working with an HRIS system. CPR/First Aid instructor certification preferred. Experience conducting training, managing an on-boarding process, and maintaining compliance standards in the non-profit environment are all preferred. MS Office and excellent organizational skills are required for this position. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a valid driver's license are also required.
