Job description
Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) is looking for a talented and self-motivated developer to be a member of the Human Resources Business Technology (HRBT) team. This role will be responsible for the design and development of the HR Data Warehouse including Inbound and Outbound data feeds, as well as providing technical production support across our HR technology stack and platform including our HR Data Warehouse, Workday HCM and Qlik Analytics applications. ETL experience is required, and Oracle Data integrator (ODI) experience is preferred. Non-technical skillset should include a high degree of organization, effective communication, the ability to collaborate with internal and external teams that include system/business analysts, developers, managers and testers.
Responsibilities:
- Model Data Warehouse data or support integration enhancements for data modeling to develop custom Oracle HR Data Warehouse. Data engineering functions including, but not limited to: data extract, transformation, loading, integration in support of enterprise data infrastructures using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI)
- Analyze requirements and architecture specifications to create detailed design documentation
- Work with data modeler, business team and system analysts to prepare source to Client mapping specifications
- Use Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) to create and maintain topology, interfaces, packages and load plan components Perform data analysis and identify data patterns, issues and provide solutions using ETL/ELT tools
- Pursue reporting optimization efforts in terms of optimized reporting tables, optimized data warehouse tables and/or optimized data marts, as appropriate
- Understand business requirements, design technical specification & develop new components for the ETL framework, identifying structures and processes to ensure that relevant data is captured
- Conduct walk-throughs to review ETL Components, Mapping, Packages and Procedures, and all technical supporting documentation
- Maintain integrity, metadata and data lineage for ETL inbound/outbound processes including onboarding new sources/targets via data profiling to identify data quality checks
- Actively participate in data integration, data profiling, data validation and data quality processes and resolve data mapping and data quality issues in partnership with QA and development teams
- Review ETL environment for Inbound/Outbound processes and help with overall data governance model
- Collaborate with HRBT, HR and Systems to provide production support for the HR technology stack and vendor technology related maintenance including Windows, Oracle, Unix and ODI upgrades or validation testing, addressing Cyber Vulnerabilities and remediation related to server infrastructure which can include occasional after-hours support or weekend work
- Lead the setup, configuration and maintenance as needed including ID management, Momentum profiles, PGP / SSH keys, SSL certificates, sFTP and SSO configurations for the HR technology stack both related to server infrastructure and to integrations within Workday
- Provide production support for clients on HR related applications, including addressing inquiries on the technology, processes, or user access to resolve issues
- Participate in support of downstream integrations from Workday to other vendors (i.e. benefits, payroll, internal systems, etc.) as needed, which may include some vendor product maintenance
- Engage and interact closely with business and Systems stakeholders to understand business requirements and current constraints, while documenting the same
- Ensure technical documentation is kept up to date, improving where needed, and highlighting support operating models for ease of use by the team
Skills Required:
- Excellent technical aptitude and ability to nimbly learn and apply new technologies
- 3 years of ETL experience required (ODI v12c preferred)
- 3 years relevant experience in HR or adjacent systems and solutions such as PeopleSoft HRMS, SAP HCM or Workday HCM preferred
- Strong experience with Oracle Relational databases and / or Oracle Exadata
- Hands on experience with flat files, XML, JSON and other complex files as source and target
- Good understanding about topology, user access, logical and physical contexts etc.
- Understanding of performance tuning
- Should have good communication skills, analytical ability and problem-solving skills
- Should be able to articulate the issues and propose viable solutions
- Ability to work independently, inform appropriately, and self-manage among assigned priority items
- Strong work ethic, follow-through and communication skills for all assigned areas of responsibility

Nice to Have:
- Exposure to shell scripting, JSON, XML, PLSQL, Web Services, Relational Database Management System
- Experience with Workday Studio highly preferred but alternate integration methodology experience is valuable
- Experience with integration technologies including Web Services, XML, XSLT, SOAP and Java
