Job description

A leading University in New Brunswick is seeking a Recruiting Specialist.

Duration: 6 months will possible extension, potential to apply to the permanent job when available
Location: REMOTE for now, will switch to being onsite in New Brunswick when things rebound
Hours: 8:30 am- 5:00 pm ( Mon- Fri)
Pay Rate: $30/hr - $33/hr depending on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Full lifecycle recruitment to proactively identify, source and recruit top talent in a highly competitive business marketplace.
  • Exhibits strong business acumen, ability to balance changing priorities, manage time and resources and adhere to or develop workable processes.
  • Develop appropriate staffing plans to strategically support the company's short and long term business needs and objectives.
  • In partnership with internal client groups, use expertise to identify, evaluate, and manage pro-active recruitment sourcing plans, position specific talent identification strategies, initiatives and tactics including networking, internal job boards, database mining, employee referrals, internal transfers and promotions, ad response, professional outreach, third party agencies and advanced recruiting techniques.
  • Coordinate Service Level Agreements (SLA's) with hiring managers to develop position specific recruitment campaigns.
  • Manage applicant tracking system, data integrity and effective use of online tools and automation.
  • As internal consultant to hiring managers, provide direction and guidance on staffing strategies, job responsibilities, behavioral interviewing techniques (including identification of Core Competencies required), employment law and selection process.
  • Partner with Compensation to advise client groups on salary/compensation issues, negotiate salaries and contracts, and extend offers.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to communicate and advise business units regarding HR policies and procedures and to ensure job descriptions and grade level are appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with OFCCP, EEOC and other pertinent regulations.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to the job function.


  • Experience and skills:
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in HR or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary
  • Minimum 2-3 years in recruitment is required
  • Confidence needed to handle professional conversations with internal stakeholders and applicants
  • Excellent oral, written/oral communication skills and MS Office proficiency is desired
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Overall problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills.
