Job description

Major Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Development Associate.
  • Work with VP to set quarterly, annual and long-term budget objectives, strategies and action plans to support the organization s philanthropic strategic plan.
  • Develop, manage and expand a portfolio of individuals and corporations, and manage overall donor pipelines.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive program of revenue generating, cultivation, stewardship and major donor events.
  • Prepare gift agreements, corresponding invoices and acknowledgement letters.
  • Work with department managers across the Medical Center to identity funding opportunities, including programs, equipment and capital improvements.
  • Work with the Corporate Grants Team and Medical Center personnel to develop and track all corporate and foundation activities.
  • Work with VP to develop donor tours that align with donor interests and Medical Center needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies and corresponding materials for donor recognition including giving circles.
  • Oversee the Employee Giving Campaign.
  • Support the VP with creating a Grateful Patient Program throughout the Medical Center.
  • Work with Clara Maass Medical Center Finance team to coordinate and reconcile Foundation distributions to the Medical Center.
  • Liaise with RWJBH Foundation central services including Grants, Annual Giving, Stewardship, Development and Strategic Initiatives, Database Management, Finance, Planned Giving and Research teams.
  • Support the Executive Assistant to prepare all meeting materials.
  • Assist VP with projects and assignments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree required.
  • Seven (7) years progressive experience in a fundraising Foundation or department, preferably in a Medical Center or higher education setting.
  • Experience managing and motivating staff.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Outstanding organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strategic thinker.
  • Work independently and as a team member. .
  • Ability to shift priorities in a high-volume environment
  • Interact effectively with all levels of our diverse public community.
  • Manage multiple concurrent assignments and meet deadlines.
  • High level of energy, initiative, and creativity. Self-motivated, outgoing, creative, and results-oriented.
  • Knowledge of Raisers Edge and NXT preferred as well as Microsoft software applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
