Job Summary: Recruits for vacant positions. Provides operational and consultative human resources services, in the areas of employment, employee relations, benefits and compensation. Establishes and maintains effective partnering relationships with assigned departments to ensure their goals and objectives related to human resources are achieved. Is responsible or reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc
Job Qualifications/Education/Training/Certification/Licensure: Bachelor s Degree required (or currently working towards completion). Graduate or undergraduate concentration in Human Resources, Business, Nursing or Behavioral Sciences. Master s Degree preferred. Three to five years progressively responsible experience in Human Resources required.
Work Environment and Hazards: Works in office setting but also circulates throughout entire CMC
Special Physical Demands: Must meet requirements of the ADA
Work Contact Group: All levels of CMC associates including Administration, Department Heads, physicians, Finance/Payroll Department and outside agencies.

- Assist with planning and execution of HR special events (i.e. open houses, Years of Service Dinner, etc.).
- Serves as consultant/mediator for management and staff of assigned departments on issues relating to policy interpretation and application.
- Attends departmental staff meetings for assigned departments.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with assigned departments in the area of recruitment by minimizing approval to hire time making
- Effective use of applicant tracking system.
- Ensures positive HR customer experience
- Provides external and internal customers with appropriate service levels. Meets with employees and serves as liaison to external departments as necessary and delivers consistently accurate, efficient and professional service.
- Establishes and maintains effective recruitment and retention programs for assigned departments.
- Develops strategies to attract and retain qualified applicants.
- Recruits viable applicants for employment utilizing various methods including, but not limited to, advertising, employee referrals, job fairs and direct mailings. Interviews and competes the on-boarding process. Counsels employees regarding interdepartmental transfers, promotional opportunities and continuing education programs Ensures follow-up with employees to in-house retention and employee satisfaction.
- Conducts Exit Interviews as appropriate.
- Collaborates with Department managers on preparation and updating of job descriptions.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulatory requirements
- Maintains current knowledge of employment laws and regulatory requirements. Counsel managers regarding employment law.
- Qualified and diverse slate of candidates
- Ensures that a qualified and diverse slate of candidates is sourced, interviewed, and selected.
- Records
- Maintains accurate automated and manual records.
- Responds to routine inquiries regarding benefits, HR policies and procedures, provides appropriate referrals as necessary.
