Shipping and Receiving Clerk
About the job:
Under the supervision of the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. This position reports directly to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor.
Hours are: 8 AM to 4:30 PM M-F.
Must have experience and proof of Covid vaccine.
Daily responsibilities:
• Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates and computer programs. Schedules carriers for daily pick-ups.
• Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment.
• Posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage. Utilize and fully understands UPS procedures.
• Receives and inspects all incoming material following Company's quality control guidelines. Inputs data in the computer database, and reports all findings/discrepancies to appropriate departments.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet Company's quality specifications.
• Operates forklift (after successful completion of Company's safety forklift program) or uses hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
• Performs daily and weekly inspections on forklift and other equipment used by the Shipping & Receiving Department to ensure good working condition and reports any problems to Supervisor.
• Interacts with other departments to ensure on time shipments.
• Troubleshoot problem orders.
Required:
- HS Diploma.
- 2+ years of shipping and receiving experience.
- UPS Worldship experience.
- Must be Covid-19 Vaccinated.
- Must lift 50lbs boxes and components
- Bendi Forklift Certified (not required).
- Bill of Lading knowledge (not required).
- Pick/pack experience (not required).
