Job description

The Talent Acquisition Team Lead is a responsible for sourcing, qualifying and recommending candidates for designated positions and overseeing the day-to- day activities of Talent Acquisition contractors for Retail Banking. Additionally, they will lead Talent Acquisition projects and/or programs, recommend process improvements and be responsible for training new hires in Talent Acquisition on Valley's recruiting platform.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead Talent Acquisition role in comprehensive efforts for major reorganization or special project/program.
  • Team leader of recruiting contractors covering Retail Banking overseeing daily activity, training, coaching and performance feedback.
  • Develop procedures that document the talent acquisition process.
  • Stay abreast of recruiting trends and recommend enhancements or introduce new processes.
  • Prepare staffing reports that drive strategic decision-making regarding resource needs.
  • Work as a business partner to both HR Generalist/Business Partner and the Business to effectively operate within recruiting plan to attract talent needed based on business need.
  • Implement and utilize effective recruitment strategies to attract highly qualified candidates, including but not limited to advertising, database searches, sourcing of active and passive candidates, networking, internal and external referrals, social media, college / university recruiting, and job fairs.
  • Actively screen candidate resumes to ensure required skill set for open position; utilize technology recruitment platforms and AI to drive candidates to Valley Careers.
  • Conduct in-depth interviews and make recommendations to hiring managers.
  • Develop and manage relationships with community organizations and agencies to identify diverse pool of candidates.
  • Build and maintain relationships with candidates to establish a pipeline for future positions.
  • Maintain all required recruiting activity and reporting information in ATS.
  • Create job offer and present to candidate.
  • Ensure candidate passes all required background checks.
