Role Value Proposition:
The Senior Financial Analyst will play an integral role in the recently created UK Longevity Reinsurance (UKL) line of business within Retirement Income Solutions (RIS). The RIS business, one of the largest U.S. segments in MetLife, sells a broad range of annuity and investment products including, guaranteed investment contracts and other stable value products, pension risk transfer products, structured settlements, institutional income annuities and certain products to fund company-, bank- or trust owned life insurance and funding agreements.
The successful candidate will report to a Director within the RIS Controllers Team and will support UKL product implementation and internal/external GAAP and STAT reporting. The position is responsible for developing, enhancing and documenting existing reporting, analysis and control procedures as well as ongoing analysis and reporting of the UKL business. The role will work closely with the UKL Operations Team and functional partners, including Reinsurance, Actuarial, CFO, and TAG.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support monthly and quarterly GAAP and STAT reporting for UKL
* Prepare and/or consolidate monthly and quarterly analysis including, trends, actual versus projection and comparison to prior periods to ensure the accuracy of product financial results
* Ensure adequate internal control procedures are in place and implement new procedures as needed to ensure accurate financial reporting. Maintain documentation around key processes and controls.
* Partner as needed to support product implementation, including supporting administrative and operational integration of MetLife's UKL business
* Coordinate data and information sharing across various functional partners
* Assist as needed on ad-hoc projects/requests
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
* 5-7 years of working experience in at least two of the following:
* Financial reporting
* Reinsurance accounting
* Proactive, strategic problem-solving skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
* Knowledge of PS ledger
Preferred:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of reinsurance business
* Knowledge of insurance company operations
