BayoTech's hydrogen generation systems produce local hydrogen close to the application. This saves customers money and reduces the carbon intensity associated with the legacy challenges of liquifying and transporting hydrogen. GENERAL KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Process Engineering Authority acts as the subject matter expert for detailed engineering of BayoTech's modular on-site hydrogen generator units. This role works closely with R&D, Operations, and Supply Chain Management to design and deliver a robust and reliable end product. The employee will supervise a small group of process engineer and will focus on the process design and detailed engineering. Scope of work will include developing and reviewing process simulations, performing equipment and design calculations, optimizing the process, and sizing/selecting equipment.

The senior engineer will work closely with R&D to optimize unit productivity via implementing and testing new procedures. The individual should be comfortable with process simulation software to test and find the most appropriate production strategies. With the assistance of other process engineers, the role shall lead and prepare various engineering deliverables (drawings, datasheets, reports) such as:

• Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
• Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
• Process Datasheets
• Equipment Specifications
• Operating Manuals (including startup, idling, and shutdown procedures)
• PHA/HAZOP Studies

The role will work across the company and supply chain to design and build fit for purpose solutions. The role ensure conformance with our standard operating practices, business controls as well as compliance with regulatory standards.

SPECIFIC ASPECTS TO THE JOB:

• Act as the process authority for the development of all BayoTech onsite hydrogen generators and onsite ammonia plants
• Work with R&D and Commercial to deliver a robust and reliable product
• Ensuring planned engineering (process) progress with respect to the engineering deliverables for Tenders (as required) and awarded Projects, process engineering planning & scheduling, preparation of progress reports, manpower & resource forecasts, utilization of resources effectively & efficiently.
• Process Design & Detail Engineering including performing process simulations, design calculations, Process Optimization, sizing & selection of equipment's etc. for Tenders (as required) and for awarded Projects. Review of Clients tender documents, specifications, datasheets, verification of FEED design & calculations.
• Preparation of various engineering deliverables (Drawings & Documents) such as Process Flow Diagrams, P & I Diagrams, Process Datasheets, Equipment Specifications, Cause & Effect Diagrams, control philosophies, shutdown philosophies, HAZOP Studies & reports, Operation & maintenance manuals etc. and providing necessary engineering inputs to the other disciplines and other departments
• To ensure proper division of work & responsibility among the process engineers, providing proper guidance & integration of work done by our external partners, ensuring good, positive & healthy working nature among the team of engineers to ensure optimum productivity & efficiency
• Preparation & Issue of RFQ's, evaluation of vendor's quotations, clarifications, Technical Bid Analysis etc.
• Review of vendor's documents, drawings, datasheets, specifications and calculations
• Oversees and assesses existing processes and workflows
• Optimizes productivity by designing, implementing and testing new procedures
• Assembles reports to document process status and changes
• Tracks metrics to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades
• Utilizes process simulation software to test and find the most appropriate production strategies
• Provides thorough instructions for successful implementation of process changes
• Conducts risk assessments
• Work with the supply chain team to deliver fit for purpose solutions
• Support Center of Excellence (COE) to take solutions from R&D to production
• Work with field services to support remote support and maintenance
• Provide technical support to the commercial/ sales teams

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 15+ total years of experience in operations or process design engineering with at least 10+ years of direct experience in syngas or hydrogen unit design/operations. Experience in consulting or EPC company with design & engineering capability is a plus.
• Degreed professional - Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
• Reputation of being "best in class" both technically and managerially
• Demonstrable track record of value creation
• Strong project management skills, especially stage-gate process
• Master of Engineering or Professional Engineering, a plus
• Big company and small company experience, a plus
• New product introduction experience, a plus
• Product certification experience, a plus
• Permitting experience, a plus
• Operations/plant engineering experience is a plus.
