JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
Diagnose, adjust, and repair DOT inspected vehicles. Troubleshoot and repair a variety of light duty vehicles to ensure that the proper repairs may be made.
Essential Functions

• Operate and inspect DOT inspected vehicles to diagnose defects
• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts
• Repair and rebuild engines
• Repair and perform transmission maintenance
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on vehicles
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges
• Schedule maintenance, and keep equipment service records
• Read and understand operating manuals
• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoist and hand tools
• Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
• Clean parts by spraying them with grease solvent or immersing them in tanks of solvent
• Employee may also be asked by supervisor or other management to perform tasks that would be outside the parameters of duties or job functions, you will be expected to complete these job functions as well

Required education and experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to perform DOT annual inspections
• CDL preferred, not required
• Should be able to operate semi truck on Dugan property
• Driving position- Must meet Driver Acceptability Profile requirements
