Senior Construction Estimator - Interiors focused General Contracting | Construction Management firm

Your new company
This Construction Management and General Contracting Company has been around for the last 15 years, in that time they have been hugely successful with this year alone set to achieve over $800MM in annual turnover. It's their strong reputation of upholding quality, expertise and excellence in all on-site management that has allowed them to grow at this rate seeing a very impressive year on year growth. This firm are renowned for their work on interior and core and shell projects, primarily on the commercial side with projects covering corporate, retail and healthcare to name a few.

Your new role
They are growing the business and have just expanded into New Jersey, Florida and California along with broadening and diversifying the projects they are involved with heading into the ground-up / core and shell construction market. They are looking for a Senior Estimator to join the core team in Manhattan.

In this role you can expect to carry out the following:

Prepare detailed conceptual budgets from pre-construction, concept design, schematic design and design development documents
Perform detailed take-offs of all trades
Initiate and manage entire bid process (CM and GC) inclusive of preparation of detailed bid packages and assure accurate and proper submissions/proposals by all subcontractors
Accurately level all subcontractor bids
Negotiate and purchase all subcontractors including the issuance of purchase orders
Maintain vendor relationships
Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients and subcontractors
Interfacing with field team by communicating deliverable and procurement schedules

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have experience with either a general contractor or developer and have an understanding of all trades. You will demonstrate an understanding and knowledge about estimating processes and delivery methods, with prior experience of conducting solid conceptual estimates utilizing schematics whilst having experience in contract types and deal structures. You will not be required to manage any change order requests as there is a separate department that covers that.
