The Finance Specialist's primary responsibility is to provide support to the finance and administration functions at ICS. Specific duties include but are not limited to: assisting with Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable daily transactions, updating financial records, and performing bookkeeping and administrative duties. This position will have a particular focus on Account Receivable management to ensure that the company receives timely payment for goods and services provided to its customers. The role will require excellent customer-facing communication skills, as you will serve as a liaison between the Company and its customers on matters related to finance, billing, and collections. . Requirements:
Primary Responsibilities for the Finance Specialist:
- Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
- Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, or mailing attentions.
- Identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing accounts, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment monthly.
- Creates reports regarding the status of customer accounts as requested.
- Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts.
- Assists in generating monthly billing statements.
- Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed.
- Relays changes of information to appropriate employees.
- Assist with bookkeeping and other accounting-related duties on a recurring basis.
- Assist with month-end accounting entries, procedures and audits.
- Perform other finance, accounting and administrative tasks as needed or as directed by company management.
Desired Skills & Experience for the Finance Specialist
- Minimum two years' full time work experience in a professional/office environment, preferably in a finance, accounting or administrative role.
- Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software; experience working with ERP systems is a plus
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft products (Outlook, Word)
- Comfortable working with numbers and detail-oriented tasks
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet internal deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Willing and able to work full time out of our Endicott, NY office
