POSITION SUMMARY:

Balchem is looking for a Cost Analyst. This role will report directly to the Supply Chain Finance Manager. Responsibilities will include supporting close activities for selected plants, cost containment actions and driving accountability to targeted commitments. The individual should have an eye towards continuous improvement, leveraging technology and other solutions to automate and scale our processes to enable strategic decisions. The individual must possess excellent critical thinking skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and possess an attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Proactively support thoughtful analysis regarding the Supply Chain impact on the P&L, Balance Sheet and key financial metrics
  • Support financial close for selected plants/locations, including SOX controls and Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Participate in monthly variance forecasting for selected plants
  • Review batch orders and provide analysis on a daily/weekly basis
  • Contribute in developing yearly operation plans, budgets, and estimating new product costs, understanding overhead structure, etc.
  • Partner with key supply chain leadership (primarily plant personnel)
  • Supply external audit team with information and analysis for annual audits and quarterly reviews as required
  • Other Ad Hoc as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA a plus
  • 3+ years of directly related Finance experience within a manufacturing/supply chain organization
  • Strong Excel Skills, Microsoft office suite, Power BI a plus
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Aptitude to succeed in a competitive and deadline-oriented environment
  • Solid understanding of Information Systems/ERP Systems
