Thought Machine is solving one of the biggest problems in banking modernising core systems. This role is our first HR hire in the US reporting to the Head of the function. You will be responsible for all aspects of HR within the region, working with the global HR team to create world-class HR practices that are tailored to the region. You will either be an experienced HR Business Partner who has worked in stand-alone roles or built a team from scratch. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to build out the People capability in the region.
DUTIES
* HR lead for the region, advising the leadership team and the global HR team on best practices for the US
* Partner with the regional team to understand and improve employee engagement, organisation structure, capability and culture
* Coach and support managers proactively to lead their teams, providing proactive advice and guidance
* Manage absence, disciplinary process, grievances, succession planning, conducting and analysing exit interviews and recommending changes
* Own elements of the People Plan and work closely with the People Directors on projects including, talent and performance management, pay and benefits, learning and development, career progression and culture during rapid headcount growth
* Build and review HR processes throughout the employee life cycle to ensure they are a match for the culture, innovative and meet business requirements
* Provide the Senior Management Team with insightful MI to inform and measure HR activity
* Partner with the Recruitment team to create a seamless onboarding journey for new hires
* Promote Thought Machine and our employee value proposition among prospective candidates
Requirements
Essential:
* A professional and commercial approach to HR
* Proven HR generalist experience of five plus years
* CIPD accredited (or equivalent) qualification
* Experienced in developing and supporting line managers through change
* Excellent communication honed through business partnering/advisory roles and able to build rapport quickly
* As youll be leading HR and recruitment in the US, while reporting to a London HQ its essential to be self-motivated and able to work autonomously
* Solid knowledge of US employment legislation and its application
* Strong stakeholder management skills
