Overview

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual account roll forward schedules for various balance sheet accounts for Atlas Air and Polar Air. Prepare and analyze financial close package and annual budget for Ground Operations division. Provide analytical support for departmental projects as required.

Responsibilities

• Ability to work with outside auditors, Atlas accounting, and finance personnel on Accounting reports and data analysis
• Manage the Month-End Close process to support appropriate accounting including but not limited to prepaid, accrued liability and direct expenses
• Develop/maintain invoice account coding process for all invoices.
• Work closely with vendors to obtain and verify all invoice supporting documentation.
• Prepare analysis to ensure accurate expense recognition in accordance with GAAP
• Partner with the Manager, Finance-Ground Operations with annual/semi-annual budget
• Assist with analyzing large groups of data for reporting and budget needs as requested
• Special projects as directed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• Minimum 3-5 years accounting or finance experience.
• CPA a plus
• Experience working with public reporting companies.
• Experience reconciling Balance Sheet accounts.
• Available to work extended hours as needed.
• Experience researching accounting issues.
• Strong IT systems knowledge including WORD, EXCEL, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of Sarbanes -Oxley, particularly Section 404
• JD Edwards software experience helpful.
• Airline experience a plus.
