Job description

Brookfield Property Group

Brookfield Property Group, one of Brookfield's primary businesses, is a leading global investor in real estate, owning and operating an irreplaceable portfolio of iconic properties located in the world's most dynamic markets. Our real estate portfolio spans multiple asset classes, including office, retail, multifamily, industrial, hospitality, self-storage and student housing in North America, South America, Europe and Asia. Across our public and private investment vehicles, we generate superior returns by focusing on real estate fundamentals - leasing, financing, development, construction, and property and facilities management.

Within Brookfield Property Group, the Capital Markets team is responsible for a variety of deal and market related initiatives. These include execution of real estate financings for all Brookfield Property investment vehicles, capital structure optimization for new and existing investments, and the tracking of financial markets. Additionally, the Capital Markets team is responsible for Lender relationship management and consolidating and coordinating the global financing activity across the real estate function.

This position is an opportunity for the candidate to join one of the largest real estate companies in the world. This role is ideally suited for a motivated individual seeking a dynamic work environment who is intellectually curious and has a growth mindset. The individual will be supporting the execution team, with primary responsibilities (at time of start), including:

* Market monitoring/research to support the investment teams by providing realtime information about real estate capital markets, including credit terms , pricing comparables, and debt capital markets trends
* Help be a conduit for information from various regional capital markets functions to consolidate Lender relationships and real-time tracking of active dialogues and potential opportunities/risks to one situation as a result of another
* Help Capital Markets legal team track and understand key debt terms, creating consistency across all Brookfield vehicles with an eye towards long term corporate liquidity and cyclical preparedness
* Prepare RFP presentation materials and help position financings for marketing to the lending community
* Work closely with members of the Capital Markets team on transaction execution and build expertise towards running financing processes more independently in the future
* Assist in the review of legal documentation and transaction closing process

The Capital Markets team is small and the candidate will directly interact with colleagues throughout the organization, therefore the candidate should have strong quantitative and analytical skills, be detail-oriented, articulate, and well organized. The candidate must display initiative, good judgment in managing multiple tasks and strong problem solving skills. The ability to think strategically and to present information in a clear and concise manner is critical.

Other qualifications include:

* One (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience
* Previous experience in real estate mortgage credit and a deep understanding of capital structures is favored
* Financial modeling skills including a high degree of proficiency with Excel; Argus, PowerPoint and Bloomberg experience is a plus
* Self-motivated and driven; ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, demanding and dynamic environment
* Demonstrated academic success with a bachelor's degree in areas such as finance, accounting, or other analytical/quantitative fields from a top university
* Strong intellectual curiosity for the subject matter, analytical skills and creative problem-solving ability
* Strong social and interpersonal skills
* Keen attention to detail
* Impeccable integrity and trustworthiness
* Ability to multi-task and work in a very fast-paced environment with firm deadlines

This position would be suitable for those candidates who meet the role qualifications and who thrive in a performance-driven environment that emphasizes employee leadership and accountability for delivering results.
