Business Development Representative

Location: New York

We're looking for a Business Development Representative to open business with some of the most exciting retail brands in the US. After proven success in the UK and early success in the States, we are now continuing to build our Revenue team in New York. You will be one of the first people on the ground and have a huge impact on our US success.

Who are we?

Ometria is a customer data and marketing platform that helps retailers increase CRM revenue by sending personalized marketing messages throughout the customer journey.

Our solution combines the data unification and customer insight of a CDP with a cross-channel marketing orchestration platform, letting retail marketers easily and efficiently create experiences their customers love across email, mobile, on-site, social, direct mail and more.

Ometria's proven approach to accelerating revenue - our Retail Success Model™ - is a first-of-its-kind data science model for driving CRM growth in retail. It combines four proprietary AI algorithms that analyse a retailer's CRM performance and deliver a bespoke marketing plan for reaching their revenue goals.

We are trusted by the fastest-growing retail brands in the world such as Steve Madden, MADE.com, Hunter, Rhone and Pangaia.

We have a team of over 100 Ometrians based in London, New York and Southampton and we have raised over $30m from leading venture capital funds across the world such as Octopus Ventures.

What will you be doing?

As a Business Development Representative you will be working as part of our brand new Revenue team in New York to source new opportunities through outbound cold calls, emails, inbound lead follow-up, marketing campaign follow-up, networking, conferences, breakfasts & face to face meetings.

You will qualify opportunities, ensuring that they are the correct fit for Ometria, before working with the Account Executive to build effective closing plans.

What kind of people do well in this role?

  • Experienced

You have previous experience working in an outbound B2B sales development role, opening doors and qualifying enterprise-level opportunities. You understand the difference in approach needed between different stakeholders and are influential in both your written and verbal communication.
  • Goal-driven

You have consistently hit your targets. You have the motivation and desire to work hard and do what it takes to win and make sales.
  • People person

You have experience building relationships with senior stakeholders in enterprise businesses, and have demonstrated gravitas and thought leadership that gains the respect of senior executives.
  • Tools

You are an expert user of Salesforce and other tools. You are able to run your own reports and use the data to when planning and prospecting.
  • Mentoring

You guide more junior members of the team on best practice regarding tools, processes and workflows and act as a role model for these behaviours.
  • Improvement-focused

You're organised and able to prioritize in a busy environment. You actively seek feedback on what is and isn't working, and proactively suggest initiatives to increase productivity, and promote happiness across the team.
