Technology Investment Banking Group, one of the largest investment banking franchises on Wall Street, provides a full range of investment banking services to public and private companies. The team combines deep industry knowledge and M&A expertise with outstanding debt and equity financing, restructuring, trading, and research capabilities to advise on a full range of corporate transactions across the technology sector.
The Technology Investment Banking team has a significant presence in New York, Charlotte, Boston, Los Angeles, London, India, China and Hong Kong. Our associate role offers a unique opportunity for ambitious professionals to play a meaningful role in expanding technology investment banking practice, while gaining hands-on experience in M&A, Equity Capital Markets, and Leveraged Finance for leading Technology companies. Associates play an active and critical role in day-to-day transaction execution while gaining client interaction and live deal experience on lean transaction teams.
Technology Investment Banking Associate Description:
· Directly support senior bankers with day-to-day transaction due diligence and execution while acting as the main liaison between the deal team and the client
· Draft and participate in the presentation of marketing / new business pitches, confidential offering memoranda, and management presentations
· Develop target lists for potential buyers, investors, and strategic partners
· Conduct in-depth industry research and trend analysis
· Perform complex financial modeling and valuation analysis
· Mentor and train junior associates and analysts
Key Requirements:
· Experience as an investment banking associate preferred, but senior analysts that are committed to an investment banking career will also be considered
· Highly motivated, confident and passionate
· Superb communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
· Proven ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
Key Attributes & Responsibilities:
· Support engagement teams in equity financing, sell-side, buy-side and general advisory M&A engagements, within the Software investment banking group
· Create pitch materials
· Oversee due diligence process during transactions
· Lead preparation of offering documentation and materials
· Work with senior investment bankers to ensure prompt and effective execution of transactions
· Take initiative in fostering relationships with junior team members through formal project work and informal coaching and mentoring
Qualifications:
· Strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skills
· Deep understanding of financial statements and financial modeling (DCF, merger models, and comparable company and precedent transaction analysis)
· Superior attention to detail
· Ideal candidates will have the ability to adapt, manage projects independently, and assume a high level of responsibility as a productive member of the team
· Ability to multitask and work under pressure
· Ability to work independently and function within a team
· Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
· Robust understanding of financial data sources (Capital IQ and Bloomberg)
