Position Description: Portfolio Associate Team Overview:Portfolio Associate team members support equity execution and equity portfolio management for the firm. Team members liaise directly with Portfolio Managers and build relationships internally with Account Managers, Product Managers, Legal and Compliance counterparts, Operations teams, and other Portfolio Trade Associate teams across the firm's global offices. On a day-to-day basis, Portfolio Associates primary functions will consist of supporting equity traders in managing the trading flow and supporting portfolio managers manage and optimize their equity exposure. This can include rebalancing exposures, monitoring risk exposures across portfolios, sizing trades to take risk measures to portfolio manager's desired target and managing all other operational aspects of trading. Portfolio Associates are routinely encouraged to provide creative solutions and develop key tools and reporting methods to support the Portfolio Management team.Position Development Value: Extensive exposure to industry experts within Portfolio Management and across other functional areas of the firm A broad range of opportunities to collaborate with talented colleagues and broaden and deepen investment knowledge Learning environment focused on key buy-side portfolio risk and return principles Constructive feedback to foster career growth in addition to a formal annual review processLocation: New York, NYResponsibilities: Collaborate with the trading team across Portfolio Management and Portfolio Associate teams Managing daily equity exposures with the Equity Portfolio Management and Trading teams. Sizing and allocation of trades and re-balancing of portfolios Building and improving processes to enhance the equity investment process and minimize operational risk Generating risk, performance and other reports on a daily basis Working with stakeholders across the firm to support the equity business and manage risks Product Managers, Risk management, Legal and Compliance, Operations, Technology and Back office Responding to ad-hoc requests from the Portfolio Management team Position Requirements: REQUIREMENTS Strong academic background in a technical field from a leading, accredited college or university 2+years in equities and equity derivatives trading and operations Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail are required to operate in a fast paced transactional environment Excel power user - SQL, VBA and programming skills (Python) are preferred to build investment process solutions Strong process-oriented background and ability to demonstrate keen portfolio risk and operational awareness Outstanding analytical skills with a proven ability to function efficiently and problem-solve in a high-pressure and time-critical environment Strong project management and stakeholder management skills Benefits: PIMCO is committed to offering a comprehensive portfolio of employee benefits designed to support the health and well-being of you and your family.
