Job description
This role on the Microbiology team will lead insource work completed by
contractors in Quality Contro Microbiology, and serve as the sponsor for the insource program. The ideal candidate will manage the Environmental Monitoring data generated by the contract team, and generate trend reports to show microbial control for the manufacturing site.
As the QC Microbiology Operations manager, a typical day might include the following:
• Providing management and direction to contract organizations for daily activities
• Supervising daily operation and addressing lab needs when necessary
• Monitoring Environmental Monitoring and testing schedule, progress, data, and work quality
• Troubleshooting and executing OOS investigations
• Maintaining project timelines (implementation of new equipment, methods, room/utility PQs, etc.)
• Assisting in creation, development, and administration of Microbiology based programs (training, gowning, etc.)
• Representing QC during regulatory inspections to respond and address
microbiology challenges and solutions

To be considered for this role you must have a BA/BS in microbiology, or related field, with at least 6 years of relevant experience for an Assoc. Manager, 7+ years for a Manager. Relevant experience should be in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. This role also requires at least 3 years in a supervisory role in microbiology laboratory management. Would also consider someone with business administration degree or advanced degree/coursework in data management.
