The Scientist III role is part of the Laboratory Products Division (LPD) which unites deep scientific expertise, a collaborative culture and rich resources to deliver the lab equipment and consumables that our customers need to achieve their scientific goals - quickly, reliably and safely. Our smart lab solutions make it faster and easier for our customers to focus on what matters most - delivering answers and innovations that save and improve lives. This position will be based out of our Rochester, NY facility.

**How will you make an impact?**

Working within the Research and Development organization, contribute to new product feasibility, development, data analysis, verification, technology transfer, training, troubleshooting, and improving existing products. You will work closely with other scientists to investigate new technologies and develop ideas for new and innovative products that span multiple disciplines in science (molecular biology, cell biology, chemistry, clinical medicine, and engineering).

**What will you do?**

+ Design and conduct studies to measure levels of additives and metals in polymer formulations

+ Maintain subject matter expertise in life-science area aligned with your business team (e.g. liquid handling, diagnostics, molecular and cell biology, and/or polymer chemistry)

+ Assisting with project planning, executing, analyzing, and making summary reports

+ Working with other scientists to set-up and maintain laboratory equipment

+ Optimizing and troubleshooting reagents, protocols, and procedures

+ Statistically analyzing data

+ Drive an innovative pipeline of new products by scouting new technologies and applications

+ Prepare and present Life Science workflows as part of a continuous process of idea generation and review

+ Collaborate with a diverse group of engineers, scientists and technical experts to convert new technologies and applications in products

+ Develop high-quality scientific/technical documentation for end users from information and data provided by R&D scientists, operations managers, and other key business team members

+ Synthesize and organize the information in a logical and concise way that meets the needs of our target audience (e.g. International Regulatory Agencies)

+ Proactively solicit information from other experts within the company as needed (e.g., operations, tech support, quality, engineering, and legal)

+ Manage multiple projects with multiple deliverables simultaneously, while working independently and with other members of your team

+ Work with minimal supervision and manage time effectively

+ Promote a collaborative team environment that fosters creativity, innovation and high performance

**How will you get here?**

**Education/ Experience:**

+ Bachelors degree in life science or chemistry with 5 years related experience OR Masters degree with 3 years in related industry. PhD preferred

+ Related experience in analytical chemistry (ICP/MS, LC/MS, GC/MS)

+ Broad understanding of technical/scientific content

+ Proficiency with Microsoft standard Office software suite: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

+ Must have a positive attitude, reliability, problem-solving skills, integrity and be organized
