Job description

YAI is actively seeking a Program Director to support with the ongoing development and eventual management of our expanding Crisis Services for Individuals with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (CSIDD) in Central New York (Region 2) with a projected opening of CY 2022.


The Program Director will provide supervision and oversight of the CSIDD (formerly NY START) Clinical Team and is responsible for all administrative aspects of the Program and its operations.


Required Qualifications:


  • A minimum of a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other Human Services field with two (2) years' experience working with people with I/DD and Behavioral Health needs
  • Two (2) years' supervisory experience
  • Experience collaborating with Community Service systems
  • Must be a certified START Coordinator or can complete the START Coordinator certification process within 6-12 months of hiring
  • Prior experience as a START Coordinator and/or START Clinical Team Lead preferred


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Supervise the Assistant Director(s), Clinical Director(s), and Resource Center Director(s)
  • Establish community linkages
  • Serve as liaison to community network partners
  • Act as representative of the CSIDD team in the community
  • Coordinate trainings utilizing expertise of Psychologists and Psychiatrists, Team Leads, and specialists within the community
  • Maintain communication with other regional CSIDD Directors
  • Respond to requests from State Agencies for data and Program information
  • Chair and coordinate the START Advisory Council
  • Provide support as needed to Clinical Team and Resource Center 24/7/365
  • Collaborate with other members of the CSIDD Leadership Team to monitor quality of CSIDD service delivery and assure fidelity to the START model
  • Participate in and complete the START Coordinator certification training process
  • Enter, monitor and assure data entry for all team members in the START Information Reporting system. Use data to inform programmatic decision-making
