NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan, located in the pleasant and convenient Upper East Side section of Manhattan, Metropolitan accommodates over 313,000 outpatient visits, nearly 70,000 emergency room visits and more than 13,000 inpatient admissions annually. It is a 341-bed community based, level II trauma center, a university hospital affiliate of New York Medical College School of Medicine (NYMC SOM) and a primary training site for the NYMC SOM sponsored Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program. A faculty appointment in the School of Medicine will be granted commensurate with experience. The OMS section is under the aegis of the Department of Dental Medicine. Metropolitan is accessible by all methods of public transportation and by car, while being only steps away from Central Park and all the amenities NYC has to offer!
We are currently accepting applications and referrals for the position of Section Chief of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at NYC Health and Hospitals/ Metropolitan in New York City and full time Program Director of the New York Medical College School of Medicine sponsored Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program in the Department of Dental Medicine.
In the section chief and program director role, you will have clinical, teaching, and administrative oversight of our OMS service and residency training program - which consists of a busy ambulatory service, inpatient service, 24/7 consultative ER service, a staff of experienced Attendings, and eight NYMC SOM OMS Residents, 4 of which are assigned to Metropolitan at any given time as well as interaction with five NYMC SOM General Practice Residents. Program Director duties involve the other primary clinical training site of the Program at Westchester Medical Center.

Qualifications
- Board Certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS)
- Possess or eligible for a New York State Dental License
- DEA registration
- Advanced post-doctorate training in an ADA CODA approved OMFS residency is required
