Position Title: Associate Financial Advisor/Para-planner

Position Description:

Step into an instrumental role with an established Private Wealth Advisory independent practice at Ameriprise Financial. Help conduct the smooth operation of a fast-paced and friendly financial planning office. Work in partnership to be responsible for the financial planning piece of the operation and focus on growing your own client base.

As an associate financial advisor with our team, you will work with clients to help them achieve their financial goals. You will be focused on creating and delivering a unique client experience that defines and differentiates the practice. This position will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics and legal and regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities.

Responsibilities and Time Allocation- Will change over time to meet the needs of the practice and can include other duties as assigned by the advisor.

Position Functions: 25% of role as a Para-planner

  • Financial Plan construction, review, and case opportunity suggestions
  • Work alongside the Franchise Advisor, our external planning partners, and his local team to create client presentation deliverables.
  • Track and monitor client Financial Planning arrangements, billing and due dates
  • Creation of client-facing presentations using Morningstar Workstation, Thomson Reuters, and internal Ameriprise reporting tools
  • Review Managed Accounts portfolio construction, performance, allocations, and strategies
  • Working with our Investment Manager to place trades, move money and handle Incoming and Outgoing Arrangements for clients. Work directly with clients to confirm trades

Position Functions: 75% of role as Associate Financial Advisor

  • Focus on developing your skills as a financial advisor and developing toward a full-time Associate Financial Advisor on the team
  • Shadow with lead Financial Advisor and Associate Advisor on the team to learn best practices
  • Online training available through Ameriprise University and the Ameriprise internal website
  • Focus on acquiring clients and growing assets for your own book of business and service designated existing clients within the lead Financial Advisor's book
  • Develop and present product solutions that meet client needs

Education and other designations:

  • College degree or higher
  • 2+ years of similar experience
  • Already have the following federal and state licenses and registrations for securities, including:
  • Series 7, Series 66 (or Series 63 and 65), and state life, accident, and health insurance licenses
  • Professional Designations Desirable
  • Reimbursement available for classwork leading to CFP®, CLU®, and APMA® designations upon successful completion

Compensation and Benefits

This role is designed with the security of a base salary for the para-planner portion of the role combined with the upside potential of variable incentive pay based on the growth of your individual client base. An offer will be made based on your experience, licensing, credentials, and other factors. Also included are paid holidays, vacation days, as well as a 401k with matching contributions after one year.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

All clients are required to enter the office with masks and any meetings held in the office will be held with masks unless all parties are fully vaccinated.
