Job description

Quality Assurance Manager:

This position will oversee the activity of the quality assurance department and staff, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organizations products and/or development processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Vendor Qualification Program (documentation, schedule audits, annual scorecards, etc.)
  • Assist with Customer and Regulatory Audits (USDA NOP, GMP, and SMETA)
  • Organize and manage the retention of all quality records
  • Write, review and revise SOP's and Annual Product Reviews
  • Track and investigate customer/product complaints or issues, analyzing causes and recommendation of corrective actions
  • Act as backup to manufacturing quality (update production procedures, batch record review/approval, deviations, change control)
  • Perform Quality Improvement Audits for continuous improvement of the quality systems in place
  • Participate in new product development to assure quality considerations are covered in the design, testing for release of materials and components, and manufacturing
  • Investigation and writing of non-conformances such as deviations, complaints, OOS, etc
  • Performing risk assessments and gap analysis
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable government regulations, certifications and standards (USDA NOP program, FDA, etc.).
  • Performs all other related duties as required and assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or field related to the products being developed required
  • 3-4 years' experience in QA compliance
  • Knowledge of standard practices related to quality assurance and control
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, statistical process control/tools, structured problem solving and continuous improvement concepts and practices
  • Ability to interact positively, professionally and with a sense of urgency with customers, employees, and vendors
  • Ability to adapt in a fast paced environment
  • Exceptional analytical, root-cause-analysis and decision making abilities
  • Proven record of process improvement and execution
  • Familiarity with consumer packaging systems, materials
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with customers
  • Knowledge of Plant Quality Systems related to SOP's, work instructions, and CGMP
  • Solid critical thinking skills and ability to create new, innovative ways to handle the quality function
  • Employ strong organizational skills
  • Must be fully vaccinated and willing to work onsite
