Job description

Deliver an outstanding customer experience by assisting customers with all consumer banking needs to include, but not limited to: deposits, withdrawals, account maintenance, account inquires, online banking and mobile banking assistance, cross-selling of bank products and services, and resolution of customer service issues.
Knowledge: High School Degree or GED required. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
Experience: Six months to 1 year previous customer service, cash handling or retail experience preferred. Previous teller experience preferred. Bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish/English preferred for select locations. Universal banking experience is a plus.
Skills: Must have excellent customer service and oral communication skills. Good typing and computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office products. Ability to produce accurate and high-quality transactions.
Physical Demands/Work Environment: Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Sits less than 30% of the time.* May be required to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally. Vision abilities require very high levels of visual concentration and keyboarding proficiency. There are generally no hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions present in the location.*
Mental Requirements: Learning, thinking, concentration and the ability to work under pressure, particularly during busy times in the branch. Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be able to work as a member of a team to ensure excellent customer service to all customers. Must have the ability to interact effectively with co-workers and customers, and exercise self-control and diplomacy in customer and employee relations' situations. Must have the ability to exercise discretion as well as appropriate judgments regarding transactions when necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Organizes and balances cash drawer in a timely manner, and adheres to the cash limit policy and usage of 2nd drawer.
  • Follows proper policy regarding the processing of transaction: deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, tax payments, cash advances, etc.
  • Maintains customer confidentiality - adheres to the Bank's Security Acts, Privacy Policy, safeguards and secures and secures customer information
  • Maintains and adheres to Branch security procedures, follows open & close procedures, and protects bank assets and documents, etc.
  • Demonstrates superior product and services knowledge, and the mechanics of each
  • Extends excellent customer service to all customers and prospective customers
  • Maintains positive interpersonal relationships with customers and employees.
  • Professionally handles complex customer transactions or customer service issues with sound judgment and decision-making.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Adheres specifically to all corporate policies and procedures. Also adheres to Federal and State regulations and laws including the Bank Secrecy Act.

  • Maintains knowledge of the Bank's services to take advantage of opportunities for selling and cross-selling of products and services.
  • Performs other duties as required.
