JOB SUMMARY (the purpose and general nature of the job):
The Hiring Specialist will drive critical efforts to deliver against aggressive headcount goals, technical requirements, complex roadmaps, partnering with various peer groups and hiring managers to effectively leverage process, programs, strategic sourcing and technology to drive improvement and efficiency. The position is responsible for all aspects of the recruiting and on-boarding function and will be invested in the proper training as well as accountable for long term retention. The successful candidate will bring strong industry background and be very versed in recruiting for roles in the machinery manufacturing industry.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following:
* Administer full cycle recruitment and interview process for hourly and salaried personnel as well as coordinating background searches and pre-employment physicals and drug screens.
* Use strong technical recruiting acumen to find best-in-class talent.
* Measure and track performance against headcount targets and provide guidance to the monthly/quarterly hiring forecast.
* Create sourcing channels that are aligned with current and future pipeline needs.
* Leverage market data and insights in order to have empowered conversations.
* Assess and analyze pipeline metrics and recruiting process(es) to identify areas of improvement and provide recommended actions.
* Drive recruiting campaigns (on-line, events, etc).
* Establishing credibility to earn trust and the ability to influence.
* Lead intake meetings with hiring managers and other stakeholders to set expectations, communicate pipeline activity, develop action plans, gauge progress and identify potential obstacles.
* Develop, manage and share reports and dashboards to hold both hiring teams and recruiting teams accountable for desired results.
* Assess and develop creative strategies to enhance the overall candidate and new hire experience.
* Aid in the creating of job descriptions.
* Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
* Explain company policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
* Compile and prepare reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities.
Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Minimal requirements for education, knowledge and experience:
* Bachelors degree required
* 5+ years of experience preferred
* Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office including; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
* Strong recruiting background required.
* Expert communication skills both verbal and written.
* Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
* Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
* Ability to take initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation.
* Strong track record in the Machinery Manufacturing industry preferred.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:
* Work schedule generally consists of 40+ hours per week
* Office environment
* Required to sit for long periods of time
* Ability to lift 20 pounds
