Job description

The Director/Business Development and Account Management will support business development, capture and proposal efforts across the company and across diverse customer markets.

Requires progressively responsible experience in the defense industry equivalent level of knowledge and performance. The Director/Business Development will provide guidance and supervision.

The Director of Business Development and Account Management will be responsible for expanding LinQuest customer pipeline of new business from identification to shaping through capture and proposal.

Develop and implement plans and objections for the business development department in an effective and innovative fashion. Will develop and execute the company's business strategies in conjunction with the line of business leaders, general managers and department heads.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in the identification, qualification and pursuit of strategic business opportunities.
  • Develop baseline and foundation for win strategy and technical approach.
  • Drive all capture and BD lifecycle opportunities.
  • Develop plan for all marketing activities.
  • Seek and utilize market intelligence and competitor data to position the company for ensuring success.
  • Actively participate in capture activities including opportunity gate reviews, black hat sessions, collaboration and workshop sessions and proposal reviews.
  • Conduct after-action reviews for all business opportunity capture participants to document lessons learned and identify necessary adjustments to capture technique, strategy, and actions.
  • Develop marketing and budgets and execute BD plans within those approved budgets.
  • Help mentor/train more LinQuest staff on proposal and BD approaches, processes and tools to increase capture resources and improve proposal quality.
  • Ensure team members work together for the good of the company and ensures company policy is upheld
  • Subject matter expert in multiple functional areas
  • Act as a back up to the General Manager or Department Head
  • Provide project oversight
  • Determine customer needs, technical direction and strategy
  • Ensure professional development of the business unit or department occurs
  • Allocate and sets goals for the team/project that are consistent with company business strategy
  • Develop strategic decisions aligned with senior executives and corporate policies and processes

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Ability to build trusted partnerships with customers
  • Business-related experience in strategy, business development, or sales
  • Strong project management experience and skills, including demonstrated ability to think end-to-end and manage multiple.
  • Understanding of the new business pursuit lifecycle, with emphasis on market analysis, customer and opportunity identification and qualification, and opportunity shaping
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to create and sustain excellent long-term customer relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated success in leading diverse teams of business development professionals.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (Preferred)
  • Experience with Large Account Management processes (Preferred)

Years of Experience:15 + years of demonstrated experience in business development, capture management, and proposal development, with a proven track record of developing and winning new business

Education:BA/BS in Business Management or related field
