Accounting Analyst Associate

Job description

Purpose and Scope:

The position plays a role in the accounting and reporting of the financial statements (Profit & Loss, and Balance Sheet) for our client in accordance with US GAAP. These statements are a major component of The the clients' Consolidated Financial Statements which are distributed to senior management, shareholders, and governmental agencies. Having a strong desire to be challenged with solid problem solving and analytical skills will be essential for success in this position.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for assigned accounting topics, including but not limited to the following: payroll and related withholdings
product warranty
environmental liabilities
freight accruals
intercompany accounting
consolidated banking transactions

Responsible for all aspects of accounting for assigned accounting topics including, but are not limited to, preparing and analyzing accounting entries, account reconciliations and quarterly disclosures, ensuring completion in a timely manner, with effective analysis, follow-up, problem solving, & resolution of issues.
Liaison between payroll and accounting departments.
Responsible for maintaining a complete and accurate ledger of our Receivables entity including but not limited to completing all accounting responsibilities associated with the monthly closing, account reconciliations and financial statement analysis.
Assisting with both the internal and external audits as well as SOX requirements.
Assist with other projects and analysis as determined by the Manager - Accounting & Consolidations

Technical/Functional Skills:

Solid understanding of US GAAP
Strong accounting, analytical, variance analysis skills and questioning attitude
Strong Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Excel (pivot tables, data analysis, reporting)
Experience with SAP ERP system a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate Degree of Accounting or related field with at least 2 years of US GAAP and technical accounting skills experience.
Bachelor's degree of Accounting or related field with at least 0 years of US GAAP and technical accounting skills experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate Degree of Accounting or related field with at least 4 years of US GAAP and technical accounting skills experience.
Bachelor's degree of Accounting or related field with at least 2 years of US GAAP and technical accounting skills experience
