The HealthCare Connection (originally known as the Lincoln Heights Health Center) is a non-profit provider of whole person-centered primary health care for the underserved, uninsured and underinsured of Northern Hamilton County. We are the first federally qualified health center (FQHC) in the state of Ohio and one of the earliest established in the entire United States. After over fifty years of service, today we remain a leader in providing affordable, quality care to all ages and cultures, and have been recognized as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) through the NCQA.

We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who is a proactive, team-oriented leader to serve as a partner to the CEO and senior management team in carrying out the vision of the organization with a total budget of over $11 million.

Previous work in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or Look-Alike environment with knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to HRSA regulations and policies is strongly preferred. Likewise, experience with 330 Grant management and reporting, Payor Contracting, Revenue Cycles, and a 340B program is greatly desired.

As an integral part of the Executive Leadership, you will be a business voice of the Organization and provide oversight for planning, implementing, and managing financial-related activities of the organization at all locations.

As The Chief Financial Officer, You Will

  • Direct the preparation of all financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, grant required reporting and any other financial reports for agencies, organizations, and the Board
  • Oversee the finance, accounting, payroll, Information Systems, outreach & enrollment functions of the organization
  • Prepare organization budget and works with the management team for appropriate changes and provide direction to staff on fiscal matters
  • Responsible for the audit function for the financial aspects of the organization
  • Analyze operations and make projections for budget balancing
  • Study organization and economic trends for long term projections
Additionally, the Chief Financial Officer should meet the following requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; MBA or CPA preferred but not required.
  • Five plus years of experience in financial management and senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in multiple software systems such Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains, Paycor, Electronic Health Records and Practice Management Systems, etc.
  • Experience in an advisory role able to interact comfortably with all levels of staff, visitors, and community. Ability to relate to persons of diverse educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds
  • Experience in accounting, finance, and business management in a nonprofit environment preferred.
  • Experience managing financial risk of organizations.
  • Experience with budget management and cash flow.
  • Proven leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to focus on details while having "big picture" orientation and understanding of the social, political, and cultural context within which a Community Health Center operates.
  • Results-oriented and able to bring the project to closure.
