Job description

The Project Coordinator & Events Manager is responsible for coordinating multiple events and supporting the administration of energy efficiency and marketing programs for Buckeye Power, Inc., and the rural electric distribution cooperatives in Ohio. Provides consultative and support services to Ohio Member cooperatives on a range of energy-related and member engagement strategies and initiatives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Plans, organizes, and executes multiple events that support director and employee education, leadership development and member engagement strategies. Assist with member cooperative events (annual meetings, fairs, family day, etc.).
  • Assists with the development of market research plan and analyzes market research to better understand electric cooperative member satisfaction and Ohio consumer attitudes on energy related topics.
  • Responsible for the administration of retail marketing and advertising programs. Administers Touchstone Energy® programs.
  • Assists with developing marketing strategies and designing programs to achieve marketing objectives for electric sales and other energy-related products and services.
  • Tracks and measures marketing program participation, costs, and effectiveness. Provides reports to management and Marketing Committee, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Assists the department director as liaison to several board and member committees (Marketing, Farm Science Review, Strategic Communication Advisory) and associations (Marketing, Member Services, Communications).
  • Assists member cooperatives with member marketing, member satisfaction programs and advertising.
  • Serves as Youth Tour director, responsible for coordinating the annual Youth Tour to Washington, DC.
  • Responsible for the sponsorship program by soliciting donations, tracking budgets, and maintaining relationships with sponsors.
  • Maintains and cultivates relationships with vendors of energy-related products and services; assists with the negotiation of contracts for services.
  • Maintains working knowledge of end-use energy efficiency programs and technologies that may benefit Ohio cooperative members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business Administration, Project Management, Marketing, or other related fields. Focused curriculum in business, marketing, or market research desired.

Experience:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in project coordination, events management, marketing, advertising, or public relations fields.
  • Prior experience in events management, marketing and research campaign administration programs highly desirable.
  • Experience in utility or energy-related field strongly preferred.
  • Relevant on-the-job experience or education above and beyond that described above may be substituted for part of the experience and/or education requirement.


Abilities & Skills Required:

  • Highly organized, innovative thinker and have desire to work and direct others to solve problems, accomplish objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of marketing principles.
  • Knowledge of market research tools and marketing strategies and techniques.
  • Knowledge of electric utility industry desirable.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Skilled at supporting negotiation of contracts and bid specifications.
  • Proficient in use of market research tools.
  • Skilled in working on matters requiring high degree of confidentiality.
