The role will be focused on building relationships with National Accounts and clients in the Healthcare space and driving loan opportunities and full banking relationships to Huntington Bank. The National Account BDO will be focused on delivering the full bank new relationship to Huntington. The National Account BDO will drive new business, maintain high profile relationships with National Account Clients and develop strategic relationships in the Practice Finance space.

The primary responsibility will be to drive growth and profitability within their assigned territory through effective risk selection, pricing, negotiation, sales, retention and quality service of these accounts. The ideal candidate should have a track record of sales success, leadership capabilities, as well as a solid understanding of banking, and credit analysis as they relate to our production goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drives business development activity across a specific geography working with national partners
  • Develops, qualifies, educates, and maintains key partnerships
  • Takes an assertive approach to lead development by building trust with national partnerships
  • Meet with potential Practice loan clients in the market or virtually
  • Work with risk management/credit partner(s) to complete financial analysis and the underwriting and closing of new opportunities
  • Manages a pipeline of loans
  • Responsible for driving a minimum of $25mm in annual lending achieving primary banking relationship metrics


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 7 years of sales experience with at least 3 years of Business Banking business development, credit, and lending experience.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven track record in customer development and retention, working with all levels of senior management
  • Extensive experience in financial statement analysis
  • Experience negotiating complex agreements
  • Sound credit judgement
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail


Base Salary Range: $75,000.00 -$90,000.00

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Colleagues in this position are also eligible for participation in Huntington' s Business Banking Incentive program. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
