In this role, you will be responsible to identify both insurable and non-insurable risks and be able to provide recommendations around risk tolerance and mitigation. At Honda, our associates take pride in their responsibilities. A typical day as a Sr. Risk and Insurance Specialist will include:

• Responsible for 150+ commercial insurance placements across 20 lines of coverage and supports numerous internal customers and external partners.
• Placing and management of Marine and Property insurance placements for large and complex risks.
• Manage renewals throughout the year for 10 Marine/Transit/Autos in the Open insurance placements: USA, HdM, HdM auto exports, HdM exports to rest of world, CN exports to USA, CKD parts exports, railroad rolling stock, HdM parts exports, MX exports to USA, Acura NSX shipments.
• Partnering with Logistics teams in order to obtain information (shipments, geographic, values, etc.) required by underwriters.
• Ensure that shipments to locations around the globe are aligned to insurance program to avoid uninsured losses.
• Ability to manage a large Property insurance program with multiple partners including USA, Lloyds of London and Bermuda partners
• Service & Claims Activities: Quarterly service meetings and updates with AHM Motorcycle Logistics, AHM Power Equipment Logistics, AHM Export & Import Teams, Logistics and insurance partners concerning proper handling and subrogation of Marine claims within the $250,000 deductible. Also responsible for property claims - both physical damage and business interruption claims.
• Property Loss Control: serve as liaison between insurance carriers and facility managers concerning fire safety, egress and other property engineering issues. This includes reviews of recommendations on site, adherence to budget, and annual Property Risk Forum.
• Risk Assessment Activities: support internal customers through by addressing new and emerging risks and aligning risks and insurance program.
• Review agreements, contracts and RFP's for multiple internal customers
• Budgeting - creating and managing Marine & Property Insurance and Claims budget.

Qualifications

We are looking for qualified people with diverse backgrounds and experiences, open minds, and a disciplined work ethic. To bring the future to Honda as a Sr. Risk and Insurance Specialist, you must have:

• BA in Business or Economics preferred
• 10 years of Risk Management and Insurance experience at a Fortune 500 or large broker environment.
• Project Management Skills
• Effectively sell ideas/negotiation skills required
