Job description

About Divert

Founded in 2007, Divert is a clean-tech company providing customers with a clean and efficient solution to organic waste...and we've been at it ever since. In the U.S. 1 out of every 6 Americans is food insecure. Meanwhile, 1 out of every 7 trucks of fresh food delivered to a grocery store is either landfilled or recycled. This further results in a massive impact on the environment where 25% of all freshwater consumed, 21% of all US farmland utilized and 500 million barrels of oil are wasted. We are aggressively solving the food crisis. As the leading provider of unsold food solutions to major retailers in the U.S., Divert is positioned to fundamentally change the way unsold food is managed. Here's how you can be a part of that change

Project Manager - Gas/Utilities

We need experienced Project Managers to lead these industrial construction projects.

Reporting directly to the VP of Operations and Engineering, with dotted lines to Project Leads on specific projects, the Project Manager - Utilities will be the lead on utility connections at our new facilities - primarily natural gas (from RNG), electricity and sewer.

The position is based in Columbus, OH; however, moderate overnight travel (~30%), within the US, will be required to support projects.

  • Understand and communicate permitting requirements and timelines
  • Develop and manage compliance with interconnect agreements and plans
  • Aggressively push for action from internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with vendors to fit design to site, approve drawings, track schedules, etc.
  • Work with engineers and contractors to:
  • Install low to medium pressure gas pipelines between new sites and interconnect points
  • Install gas upgrading equipment - drying, chemical treatment, separation (PSA, Membrane, Water Wash), compression and metering
  • Manage new electrical service design and installation
  • Install sewer pre-treatment systems (filtration, pH adjustment, N2 removal, etc.)
  • Work with the development team to:
  • Identify optimal areas (industrial parks, cities, neighborhoods) for new facilities
  • Vet facilities for suitability of utilities available

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program
  • 3 to 6 years experience in industrial processes as described above
  • Experience leading small and medium sized technical capital projects
  • Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem solving skills are essential
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication
  • Desire to continue to grow their career with a progressive and entrepreneurial organization
  • Impeccable execution skills. Say what you'll do and do what you said

What will set you apart

  • Experience working with utilities and contractors to make new connections to utility distribution, particularly gas
  • Experience with or knowledge of gas conditioning, metering, compression, etc.
  • Experience with waste, food waste, anaerobic digestion, biogas
