Performs a full range of simple-to-complex diagnostic tests and laboratory services in an off-site laboratory following the established guidelines of DC main Laboratory. Provides specialized expertise in one or more areas of chemistry, hematology, serology, microbiology, virology, molecular diagnostics or transfusion medicine. Ensures sample suitability and stability and may include sample collection. Professional application of the principles, theories, and techniques of Clinical Laboratory Science to produce timely and accurate results as well as evaluate, judge and interpret results. Accepts and processes samples for on-site testing or forwards samples to references laboratories. Maintains and ensures functionality of laboratory equipment and instruments. Ensures all quality control and quality assurance aspects of testing are maintained. Ensures laboratory is prepared for unannounced inspections from regulatory agencies. Is able to use all Laboratory test ordering systems, reference procedures, and other areas responsible for the functionality of off-site labs.
Maintains, monitors, orders and stocks laboratory supplies as directed by the Lab Supervisor, according to the needs of all off-site laboratories. Maintains accurate records. Coordinates peer communication, enlisting continuation of services relating to patient care, between all on/off site co-workers and provides continued relay of information to Lab Supervisor.

Associates: Medical Technology (Required), Bachelors: Medical Technology, High School (Required)
Certification/License Requirements:
(Cert) MLT (ASCP): Medical Laboratory Technician - American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification, AMT - American Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologist, CPR: Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation - American Heart Association, MT - Medical Technology or equivalent certification (Formerly HEW) - American Society for Clinical Pathology, NCA - National Credentialing Agency - American Society for Clinical Pathology
