Location(s): Fernald

Hiring Range: $45,000 - $68,000/yr. (Depending on education, experience)

Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Job Description:

RSI EnTech, LLC is recruiting for an Environmental Scientist who will provide technical support for Ineligible Sites, Active Sites, and Completed Sites subtasks for Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP). Spending 10 to 25% of their time in the field.

Clearance and Health Regiments:

  • Criminal Background Check
  • Pre-placement Drug Screening
  • COVID 19 Vaccination or legally supported exemption
  • Fit for Duty Test (if applicable)

Primary responsibilities and essential functions (may include, but are not limited to):
  • Serve as site lead for selected Active Sites.
  • Serve as task manager for site activities.
  • Coordinate contractor functional support where needed.
  • Provide technical support as required for review of FUSRAP documents, data, GIS information; FUSRAP site transition planning and implementation.
  • Support FUSRAP eligibility determination work.


Technical knowledge, work experience and software proficiencies:
  • Microsoft Office products
  • Technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations, particularly related to Superfund, CERCLA, or MARSSIM/radiological cleanup.
  • Experience with planning, implementation, and analysis of radiological/chemical characterization, remediation, Final Status Surveys, groundwater monitoring/treatment, or radiological/chemical risk assessments.
  • PMP certification, preferred.
  • Experience with earned value management systems, preferred.
  • Experience with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers FUSRAP remediation activities, preferred.


Education required:

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or related field and 5 or more years of experience

Working Conditions and Physical/Mental Demands Requirements:

The employee exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Able to travel on uneven ground for several miles under adverse weather conditions. Much of the traveling is up and down hills. Able to work in hot, cold, windy, and sometimes wet conditions. Able to work alone for several hours per day in the field.

The employee is regularly required handle or feel, to reach, and communicate. The employee is frequently required to move about and maintain various positions. The employee must have the ability to perceive the environment and observe technical material and emails.
